Chief Executive Officer
After graduating with a degree in finance from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2006, Ben signed on with Conner Insurance as an insurance advisor. In 2013, Ben was promoted to CEO, and three years later, he and his business partners acquired Conner Insurance. Utilizing his leadership, work ethic, and expertise, Ben’s benefits clients have experienced best in national class results in managing their health plans. Eighty percent of Ben’s clients have experienced flat or reduced healthcare expenses over the last 5-10 years, unheard of in the benefits healthcare industry.
Ben was recognized by BenefitsPro magazine as a finalist for the 2020 Broker of the Year award and in 2019 by Employee Benefit Adviser as a Rising Star in Advising, which are both national awards programs for advisors who are making a difference in the benefits consulting field. Ben was also recognized in 2021 by the Indianapolis Business Journal as a 40 under 40 recipient.
Ben lives in Fishers, IN, with his wife, Alyssa, and their three children. Ben loves to read, play/watch sports, travel, and spend time with his family.
Chief Operating Officer
Chief Operating Officer Todd Hufford is a proponent of precise action. Brainstorming with the executive vice presidents, strategizing upcoming program implementation, and managing profitability targets, Todd is all about building a solid company to deliver clients with powerful results.
A graduate of Purdue University, Todd gained experience early in his career, reducing costs and maintaining compliance to provide clients with substantial savings and security. He built upon this foundation to improve client financials, especially within technology, health care, and nonprofit organizations.
Chief Information Officer
The numbers, procedures, and understanding of fundamental systems are essential in the insurance and benefits industry. However, within his role as the chief information officer at Conner Insurance, Joshua understands that those skills play an even more significant role in the realm of internal support.
Josh leverages technology to empower the team at Conner to provide superior service and expert advice. Utilizing his expertise in technology and informatics, Joshua works to improve, foster, and cultivate advancement in the strategies and implementation of benefits, commercial, and personal insurance.
At Full Sail University, Josh gained valuable insight into implementing technological methodologies to improve business and internal structures, from techniques in solution architecture and electronic data interchange (EDI) to team building and change management.
Zack has been with Conner since 2013 as a Property & Liability Advisor and Business Leadership with expertise in non-profit and healthcare. Zack quickly becomes a premier resource for his clients by understanding each industry’s subtle nuances and challenges. He partners with them to strategize efficient coverage plans, including workers’ compensation, professional, property, and cyber liability exposures. Zack is a Rotarian at the Indianapolis Downtown chapter. Zack also serves as a board member for the Indiana Parkinson Foundation and Life Impact for Eternity International. He is a graduate of Roanoke College and currently lives in Indianapolis with his wife Lacey, son Vancouver and daughter Zara.
He is a graduate of Roanoke College with a concentration in business leadership and currently lives with his family in Indianapolis and enjoys yoga, hiking, and history.
With a background in both HR and Wellness Consulting, Annie Spencer brings a crucial skillset to Conner of creating and delivering the ultimate employee experience for Conner Insurance team members. Throughout her career, Annie has worked in various HR capacities, from Compliance Consulting for Conner’s clients to leading the Recruitment and Retention Strategy for the Conner team, while also maintaining her SPHR designation for over 13 years. She also founded and was President of Spire Wellness, a local Wellness Consulting firm, where she worked with clients to build award-winning wellness programs.
Annie holds a degree from Purdue University in Small Business Management. She loves spending time with her family, traveling, horseback riding, and reading!
Advisor, Co-Founder City on a Hill Health
As a benefits advisor, Ryan strategically works with companies to provide the best support, guidance, and benefits package for their workforce. He has nearly 5 years of experience working in the employee benefits field with a history in engineering and data analytics. He believes that utilizing data, in combination with clear communications and processes, to drive results is the recipe for value and sustainability in a volatile environment.
Ryan Spencer was an Employee Benefits Adviser Rising Star in 2020, a group of the top 20 leaders across the country. He has also received his six sigma green belt and MBA in finance and marketing.
He lives in Carmel, IN with his wife and two kids and enjoys his time hiking, reading, and playing games with his family.
